Hope for the Nations – Brian & Sharon Gustafson
We are founders of Hope for the Nations and Hope for the Children Ministries, and have over 25 years experience in both short and long term missionary service. Our ministry includes teaching, preaching, and practical hands on ministry. We have conducted evangelistic outreaches in several African nations and Peru. We have also worked with Native Americans, orphans, and those with disabilities.
Our most recent outreach has had us traveling all over Uganda in cities and villages. The hunger for truth on the End Times has been tremendous. We have also shared much on the need for the church to return to foundational truths and have distributed my book out now to over 500 pastors. We have also been in Kenya and Rwanda.
Here is a recent testimony to God’s Greatness. A bishop in Rwanda, was imprisoned during Idi Amin’s reign of terror. He was put under ground to die with others with no food, water, sanitation, or hope of survival. The angel of the Lord delivered him out. He was so blessed by our material that he has now asked us to come back on 2 occasions to share the end time message and that of the foundations to the pastors and churches of Rwanda. He believes preaching the cross, repentance, and coming of the Lord are keys to revival here.
We have seen this to be true as in several places now where we have shared this message, revival has broke out. In Mayuge we have heard reports of daily salvations and healings since we left. Even on the last day we were there 7 visitors came forward for the purpose of becoming born again (before any ministry was even done)!
Our most recent conference was held in the village of Bukomansimbi which is about 30 km from the city of Masaka on dirt roads. When we came to the location the ground was very dry and the people hungry. We purchased some maize and rice for the people but found they were even more hungry for the things of God. Many slept in the church each night during our four day conference there on the end times. On the last day, nearly the entire church came forward to receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit. During the conference many were healed by our wonderful and gracious Lord and after the meetings this area began getting rain again.
We learned that a woman we had prayed for here in December had been totally healed of HIV! She had contracted the HIV virus at conception and had led a very difficult life dealing with great physical weakness. After prayer in December she said she felt better. We found out at this conference that she had recently visited a doctor and when tested they found no trace of HIV in her blood! God is Good!
A branch of Hope for the Nations is Hope for the Children. HFC operates two public schools for children from grades preschool to primary 7 (sixth grade). 60% of those in attendance in our schools are orphaned. We run a sponsorship program that helps some of these children continue their education even through college. We have over 500 students between the 2 schools, some living on campus as they otherwise would be on the streets as they have no one to care for them.
Our schools cater primarily to those children that otherwise would have no opportunity for an education because of extreme poverty and hardship. While most schools require school fees for entrance, we do not as we take in those who otherwise would not be in school. Though a small portion of these children are able to pay something, most cannot as they are partial or total orphans. Because of this, we use whatever we have and depend upon others to help us give these children a Christian education, a meal, loving care, and for some a home.
Through our ministry to the children we see many come to salvation and many miracles take place. Here is a 2 year old boy healed of total paralysis – he can now talk, sit up, feed himself, and walk with some assistance.
